 Robyn Rihanna Fenty, NH[22] [/ri'aen@/ ) (listen) REE­AN -@;[3][4][n 1.] is a Barbadian singer, actor, and actress. Born on 20 February 1988, she's now a businesswoman. Rihanna was born in Saint Michael and grew up in Bridgetown, Barbados became an audition for Evan Rogers, an American record producer. He invited her to the United States to record demo tapes. After joining Def Jam, in 2005 Rihanna's fame quickly grew with the release of her two first studio albums: Music of the Sun (2005) and A Girl Like Me (2006). These albums were heavily influenced by Caribbean music, and made it to the top ten of the US Billboard 200 Chart. The third album by Rihanna, Good Girl Gone Bad (2007) was a mix of elements of dance music and established her status as a sex symbol in the music industry. Rihanna's first Grammy Award was won for her smash hit single "Umbrella" which launched Rihanna to international stardom. The next album she released was Rated R (2009) and Loud (2010) Talk That Talk (2011) and Unapologetic (2012) she continued to blend R&B with pop and dance genres. The album that came out was the first time she reached Billboard 200 number 1. The albums produced a number of chart-topping songs, including "Rude Boy", "Only Girl (In the World)", "What's My Name? ", "S&M", "We Found Love" & "Diamonds". Anti (2016) was her eighth studio album. It showed her new artistic direction after she quit Def Jam. It was her second US number one album and included the chart-topping hit single "Work". Rihanna has worked closely with a variety of artists throughout her career. With sales of more than 250 million records worldwide, Rihanna is the second-best-selling female music artist of all time. She has had a number one and has 31 top ten hits in the US as well as a top ten hit in the UK with 30 songs. She has won nine Grammy Awards, thirteen American Music Awards (including Icon Award), 12 Billboard Music Awards and six Guinness World Records. She was also awarded the NAACP's President's Award. Time classified her among the top 100 most influential people worldwide in the years 2012 and 2018. Forbes listed her among the top 10 most-paid celebrities in 2012/2014. Forbes named her one of the top ten most paid celebrities in 2012, 2014. She currently has an estimated net worth of $1.4 million. [5][6]
